New! AC servo axis available on more robot models

How much time is lost today on changeovers and set-up? With an AC servo axis, you can orient parts in both horizontal and vertical positions, providing greater freedom of movement, shorter changeover times and improved process control. The technology is now available on more Wemo robot models – designed for applications where installation, tool changes and operational reliability are critical.

The demands on automation continue to increase as components become more technically complex. Post-processing and assembly are now a natural part of many production flows, even where smaller robots are used. To meet these demands, you need a solution that delivers precise orientation, high accuracy and fast changeovers.

With Wemo’s AC servo axis, you gain exactly that flexibility. The ability to rotate parts in both vertical and horizontal positions provides greater freedom of movement and improved conditions in operations where precision is essential. At the same time, changeover times during tool changes are reduced, making production more efficient and easier to adapt.

Daniel Sätermark, Product Manager at Wemo, explains:

“If you visited our stand at the K trade fair in Düsseldorf, you had the opportunity to see our new AC servo axes. Following a development partnership with Yushin, we are now starting sales. AC servo technology has previously been available on our larger xLine models, but from now on it is also available on the 8-5 xDesign, 16-5 xDesign and 120 xLine.”

What distinguishes Wemo’s AC servo axis is its focus on simplicity in everyday production.

“We have chosen to integrate both hoses and electrical cabling all the way to the Quick-Lock. This results in a cleaner installation, faster tool changes and higher operational reliability. With other robot manufacturers, hose routing is often left to the customer, which is time-consuming and can, in some cases, restrict movement – for example if hoses interfere with the gripper.”

In the next part, we take a closer look at how the AC servo axis works in practice and the concrete benefits it offers in different applications.
